Our naming
process

Created in 2008, URM, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the UEM Group, manages the electricity distribution networks of 141 municipalities in the Metz region. The entity was created in accordance with the law requiring the legal separation of electricity supply and production activities from network operation activities.

As part of a referral, the Commission de Régulation de l’Energie (Energy Regulatory Commission) asked the URM network operator to change its brand and logo to avoid any confusion with those of the incumbent supplier UEM, which operates in the same concession territory.

The name réséda explicitly refers to the network. It also refers to reseda, a herbaceous plant whose flowers grow all along the stem, creating a path, or even a network of flowers that give the plant its harmony.

The logo conveys the idea of accessibility and proximity. This is emphasised by the rounded design of the ‘r’ and ‘d’. The symbol incorporates lines, signs of a network that criss-crosses the region.

The whole name conveys an image of proximity and high quality.
