A new name for a French law firm specialising in employment law.
With 250 staff, including 180 lawyers, and 9 offices, Capstan is the leading employment law firm in France. Capstan is a founding member of the international alliance Lus Laboris, which brings together more than 2,500 lawyers and 42 law firms specialising in employment law throughout the world. With 47 years of expertise, Capstan generated sales of €46 million in 2011.
Capstan is based on the same term capstan. Originally, on a ship, the capstan was a device that combined the strength of several men: a drum with a vertical axis, into which lever arms were inserted and pushed by the men, and around which a cable was wound. In this name, we see ability, union, advancement, strength as well as expertise.
