La Toyota Yaris, named Toyota Vitz in Japan, is a car model that has been porduced in Japan since 1999 and in France since 2001 for the European market. Toyoya asked the Nomen agency to find a name for the car on this new market.
Yaris is a distinct, modern and international name, created from the name of an Afircan tribe, origianally Miareg, then iareg, then laris then finally Yaris. Yaris refereces the goddess Charis, one of the greatest symbols of charm, beauty, nature and human creativity in Greek myhtology.
